Factual summary
Bagas Mihail was involved in the illegal financing project of a political party that was to be taken over and prepared for the general local elections in 2023. He acted as an intermediary between the individuals transferring money from the group led by Ilan Shor and Adrian Culai, the person who was to manage the party organizationally and financially.
Between June and September 2023, Bagas received five tranches of money from unknown individuals and forwarded them to Culai Adrian. The total amount transmitted was at least 452,700 US dollars, equivalent to 8,110,658.98 lei. The money was intended for the takeover, organization, and strengthening of the political party, without being declared and accounted for according to the rules of political party financing.
